Bremelanotide — FDA-approved as Vyleesi for a specific indication, prescription-only.
Research Use Only — Not for Human ConsumptionPT-141, known generically as bremelanotide, is a melanocortin receptor agonist studied for its effects on sexual desire. Unlike most peptides on this list, it already holds a specific FDA approval.
Bremelanotide is an FDA-approved prescription medicine, not an unapproved research chemical. It is approved under the brand name Vyleesi (since 2019) for a single, narrow indication — acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women — and is available only by prescription.
Any other use, including use in men or general sexual-performance use, is off-label and legally requires a prescription and physician oversight, typically filled by a licensed compounding pharmacy. It is not an unregulated substance in the way some other peptides on this site are.
Tiger Blood Pharmaceuticals is pursuing registration in the Republic of Mauritius through the Pharmacy Board (Ministry of Health and Wellness, Pharmacy Act 1983). PT-141 is not currently registered there. Until any such registration is granted, PT-141 is supplied strictly for laboratory research use and is not sold, marketed, administered or intended for human use in any jurisdiction. Customers are responsible for confirming the law in their own country before ordering.
Bremelanotide's approved indication is backed by formal FDA-reviewed clinical trials. Its use outside that approved indication — including in men — has been explored in smaller studies and off-label clinical practice, but is not FDA-reviewed for those uses, and carries known side effects including nausea, flushing and blood-pressure increases documented in its official prescribing information.
